HazMat is an integral part of our daily lives, and we're recommending as may of you as can take this class.
There is a $5 charge for the class, to cover the cost of the qualification certificate, payable at the door.
Also: come with your CERT packs, gloves, helmet, mask, etc. as you will be using them.
This class is put on through our neighbors and partners the Pala Reservation Fire Department, and sponsored by the REA Medical Reserve Corps. VC CERT thanks everyone in these organizations for their generosity and help !

Valley Center Fire Expo
Saturday, October 8th, between the hours of 10:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. will
give you AND your children and neighbors an opportunity to meet and greet
some of the fine and dedicated Firefighters, Emergency Medical Technicians
and San Diego County Sheriff's that serve you and the town of Valley
Center.
A few of the presentations and displays scheduled are a display of antique
and local ladder and fire engines.
Your Valley Center Community Emergency Response Team [C.E.R.T.] and Large
Animal Safety Team [L.A.S.T.] will be on hand to introduce you to their
organizations and how you AND your family can become an integral part of
C.E.R.T and L.A.S.T..
The Bell 205A1, otherwise known as the San Diego County Sheriff's
Firefighting Helicopter will be on view from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
The Mercy Helicopter will be on view from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.
An automobile extrication demonstration, using the "Jaws of Life", will take
place at 1:00 P.M.
Fire extinguisher demos and blood pressure station will also be available
for participation!
A special presentation by Farmers Insurance is also to take place.
So bring your family---tell your neighbors and friends! Come visit and say
"Hello and Thanks" to those who help keep YOU and YOUR town of Valley
Center safe and secure.
Fire Station # 72 is located at 28234 Lilac Road, corner of Valley Center
Road, across the street from the Valley Center Municipal Water District's
open field.

Fire Safety Expo
The Lake Hodges Fire Safe Council of Escondido invites the public to attend its Fire Safety Expo Sunday, Sept. 25 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the old Del Dios Fire Station at 20155 Elm Lane, Escondido.
This child-friendly event will feature local fire chiefs and other speakers, information booths and product demonstrations all focusing fire safety and fire safe products and services of interest to consumers.

Radio Technician License Class will be held on Nov 5th at Deer Springs Fire Station 8704 Circle R Drive off of
Old 395. 9:00-4:00. Details
The last April 1st ham class graduated
16 new hams. Congratulations!

Classes
1 thru 8 are on consecutive Tuesdays.
Final class and drill is the Saturday following the last Tuesday class (Dec 10).
All classes are held at the LDS Church Building, 14826 Fruitvale Rd, Valley Cemter, from 6:30 PM to 9:00pm on Tuesdays, with
the exception of the Saturday sessions, which run from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM and whose locations
will be announced.
CPR for children class will be scheduled soon.
